It’s been a great month here at GRLIFE! Let’s go through some of the highlights:
As I mentioned, I took several classes at Grand Rapids GROW. At the beginning of the month, I went to their Intro to GROW class, then I took 3 of their Small Business GPS classes, and wrapped it up with the Smart Start class. I met a wonderful group of women here in Grand Rapids looking to start some very cool and interesting businesses. The instructors for all these classes were all phenomenal. I came home each night with sheets of notes and things to work on right away.
I also attended a live business webinar through the SCORE website and watched a pre-recorded one on small business branding from back in November. There is a wealth of great small business information on this site! I plan on watching many more. Again, lots of notes were taken and plans are in place.
Extremely exciting for me – I went down to the Office of City Clerk in Grand Rapids and registered my business name. That was a great day! I’ve had this website since 2014, but I was still surprised that the name GRLIFE was available. I can’t believe my good fortune! I was on cloud nine the whole way home. (Oh, if you are thinking about starting a business in Grand Rapids, you can get more information on the County Clerk’s website.) I added GRLIFE Twitter and Facebook accounts. And I commissioned my logo. Whew!
This past weekend I attended the Inspired Life Conference. It was a two-day conference, held at Aquinas College. There were Naturopathic Doctors, healers, and teachers who were all there speaking about how we can engage in self-care. One of my favorite speakers was the Keynote speaker, Dr. Holly Lucille. I’m still thinking about her talk and how I can incorporate some of her ideas into my life.
At the Inspired Life Conference, I heard about a seminar through Universal Health Solutions on The Evolution of the American Diet: The Inflammation Super Highway. That sounded fascinating so I immediately signed up! (They have a seminar in May on Integrative Approaches for your Pet’s Health. I am so hoping to make that!)
In addition, I launched my monthly newsletter and sent out my first issue! That seems like a lot for one short little month! I can’t wait to see what March brings!
