Holidays in Downtown Grand Rapids – Let’s Crowdfund this Project!

Posted by

I have been simply blown away by the wonderful responses to my posts about Grand Rapids. Thank you all so much for reading, sharing and commenting! You’ve made my day. There is a lot of pride in being from Grand Rapids. We love our city!

The Santa Hat

Speaking of which, some friends of mine are working on a fantastic Grand Rapids based project – it is a Christmas movie and community event that takes place in and around downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan present and past. For all of you that mentioned Herpolsheimer’s, Wurzburg’s, shopping downtown or the annual holiday displays, you have to check this out!

First, take a look at their Kickstarter page: (If you remember going to the old Grand Rapids Public Museum on Jefferson, you absolutely have to watch this video. Bonus – there is footage of the kid’s train that I reference in the first 23 Signs You are a Grand Rapids Native. So many of you remember that train – you can help get parts of it refurbished!)

Click the image above to go to “The Santa Hat” Kickstarter page and watch the movie.

Let’s get this movie made! Once you have donated to their Kickstarter, check out their “Holiday Memories of Downtown Grand Rapids, MI” Facebook page. There are loads of wonderful downtown GR photos, and it is a great way to keep in the loop about the movie and community event.

Again – thank you for everything!
